January 10, 1923 until August 16, 2019

Joe Billy Stewart, age 96, of Rogers died Friday, August 16, 2019 at a local skilled care center. He was born January 10, 1923 in Gibson County, Tennessee the son of Eva Lee Butler and William Matthew Stewart.

He served in the US Army. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church located in Rogers. He was employed with General Motors for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife of 71 years Wilma Stewart, and six siblings.

Joe is survived by: his son; Charles Stewart and wife Viola, of Bella Vista, one daughter; Patricia Darling, of Rogers, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-10am at New Hope Assembly of God Church located in Rogers. A celebration of Joe’s life will begin at 10am with Pastor James Longmate officiating. Interment will be at noon at National Cemetery located in Fayetteville.

Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard.
