Peggy Reed Price, 85, of Temple, GA died Wednesday morning, August 14, 2019 at her residence.
She was born at Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA on February 14, 1934, the daughter of the late Dennis Clayton Reed and the late Hazel Redd Reed.
She lived in the Atlanta area most of her life and graduated from West Fulton High School. She worked in customer service for Georgia Power for more than fifteen years and retired when her son was born to become a "stay-at-home Mom". She moved from Atlanta to Temple, GA in 2012 and became a very active member of Villa Rica First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Peggy enjoyed watching TV, shopping for her family and going out to eat since she was not too overjoyed with cooking. She and her late husband traveled extensively and they especially loved the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area where they would spend their yearly vacations at the Johnson Inn with several families they had met during the years and with owners of Johnson Inn. Her greatest love though was in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her family. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends but will be long remembered by the beautiful lifetime of memories she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Chester Price on March 5, 2015.
Survivors include her son, Eric Todd Price and his wife, Melissa, of Douglasville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Arrowood officiating. Music will be by Eric Price and Sharon Ellis. Pallbearers will be Nick Morriss, Justin Arnett, Russell Price, Keith Price, Gary Loner and Jeff Waldrip. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, Ga.
