Gladys Lottie Kostick was born on March 27, 1940 in Stanley, WI, to Paul and Lottie (Gay) Kostick. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Thorp area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1959. Gladys was united in marriage to Thomas E. Baker on May 13, 1961 at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin, WI. After her children were old enough to go to school, Gladys worked for 13 years at Drangle's Cheese Factory in Gilman. She then worked on the farm with her husband until his death on July 2, 2005. She resided with her daughter, Julie, from 2007 until her death.
She was a member of St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin.
Gladys had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, reading, gardening, doing word search puzzles and playing cards.
She will be dearly missed by her 3 children: Edward Baker of Thorp, Paulette (Philip) Kubishak of Thorp, Julie Wasylko of Gilman; one daughter-in-law: Natalie Baker of Thorp; 6 grandchildren: Michael, Tyler, Katrina, Ben, Charlotte and Molly; one great-grandson: Trenton; 2 brothers: Kenneth (Deb) Kostick of Holcombe, WI, Ronald (Penny) Kostick of Lublin, WI; one sister: Virginia (Mike) Kostick of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; and 2 brothers: Joseph and William Kostick.
