Barbara Ann Ellsworth, age 72, passed away at home in the early hours of the morning on Friday, July 26th, 2019. Barbara was born on June 22, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas. Music was a big part of Barbara's life and she loved all kinds of music but classical was her favorite. At 5 years old, she started playing piano and then began learning the violin at 7. She passed her love of music on to the students she taught over the years. She played the organ at church while living in Canada and joined various coral groups over the years including the Montgomery County Coral Society. She was a big advocate for the use of proper grammar when speaking, but her girls did not always listen!! Barbara graduated from Texas Tech University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. It was a joyous occasion as she and her daughter Kimberly, graduated on the same day. She was very active in her community and was a member of an organization called AMBUCS, whose mission is to supply mobility bicycles to handicap children. Barbara was also active with the March of Dimes in Lubbock. She and her husband, Winston were successful business owners in Lubbock for many years until 2004, when they retired and moved to Houston to be closer to their children. She helped form the senior group for her subdivision, Legends Ranch that meets for fellowship and fun. Barbara was always available to lend a helping hand when needed. She always had a positive attitude and thought the best of everyone she met. She will surely be missed by her family and everyone who knew her well. May she rest in peace. A funeral service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Conroe United Pentecostal Church, 1612 Odd Fellow Street, Conroe, Texas with an interment to follow at Tranquility Oaks Cemetery, 22302 Hildebrandt Road Spring, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.
