Antonio "Tony" F. Aguilar Jr., ge 73, beloved and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many was called home by the Lord on Saturday, August 8, 2015.
Tony was born August 14, 1941, in Vaughn, NM to Antonio and Avelina Aguilar.
Tony is survived by Esther his loving wife of 31 years, his sons, Dan (Yolanda), Tom (Soon) and Ron Aguilar and Russell (Robin), Mark (Teresa) Edwards, and Richard (Trisha) John, his daughters, Anita (Eddie) Dean and Tavi Byrd, grandchildren, Stephanie, Brent, Danielle (Brandon), Carrissa (Jared), Brandon (Alicia), Adrianna, Felicia, Andrea, Hope, Tiffany, Victoria (Steve), Sarah (Brant), Lucas, Dillon, Gabriel (Charlene), David, Tyrell, Tasheena, Jalisa, Josh (De Nicha), Devin and Marissa, seventeen great-grandchildren, whom he loved and adored. Tony is also survived by his sisters, Emily (Ken), Anna (Isabro), Rosa (Ray) and Julie (John) and brother, David (Vickie), two aunts, Emma Aguilar and Tomasita Chávez and many beloved cousins.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rick Aguilar, his oldest son, Stephen and niece, Rachel Brudos Vance.
Tony worked for Santa Fé Railroad for 38 years. Tony began his career as a call boy in Vaughn, NM. After several promotions and relocations he settled in Clovis, NM as the assistant Trainmaster. Tony and Esther moved to Belén in 1985, where he finished his career as an event recorder supervisor that covered Kansas City to Barstow, CA. Tony held this position as one of only three in the country for the Santa Fé Railroad.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. A Funeral Service will follow.
