Elder Larry Joe Dennis was born on September 26, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to the late Wesley Dennis and Beatrice Gardner Dennis. He was a 1974 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. During his working years he was employed by the W.F.I.S.D., Asplundh Tree Service and the Marriott Hotels.
He was called to the ministry and ordained as an Elder under Bishop B.J. Mitchell at Mitchell Chapel Church of God in Christ. Elder Dennis was also served a church musician.
On September 23, 2000 he was married to Alice Dennis and they remained happily married until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Eddie Mae Daniels and Allen Dennis.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife; Alice Dennis, two step children; Lavonna Mims and Keith Taylor. Four grandchildren; Cueneshia Mims, Richard Cue Mims, II., Tatayanna Taylor and Jacori Taylor, his best friend; Marvin Lawry and a host of other relatives and friends.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
