The funeral of Thomas Edmond Smith of Smiths Falls, who died in Chambers Memorial Hospital here, was held from the Amy funeral home to St. John's Anglican church where Rev. A. T. Carson conducted the service. Interment was in the Hillcrest cemetery. Six nephews acted as pallbearers.
The late Mr. Smith, a resident of Smiths Falls for sixteen years, had been an employee of the Canadian National Railways as a section foreman, retiring several years ago. He was born in Goulbourn township in 1874, spending the greater part of his life in the Ottawa Valley. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church.
Surviving are three sons, Elburn of Ernstown, Ont., and Russell and Danby, both of Smiths Falls. He was married to Mertis Featherston who predeceased him several years ago. Dr. H. Featherson, Ottawa, is a nephew.
