Harold L. “Butch” Belcher, 76, of Princeton died August 13, 2019. Born September 6, 1942 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Clifford Earl Wimmer, Sr. and Virginia Baldwin Wimmer. Butch was the devoted patriarch of his family. Butch loved sitting on the front porch of his cabin in Waiteville, WV and spending time with his family and friends. He made everyone who visited feel welcome. Butch’s cabin was his pride and joy and favorite place to be. Through the years, Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all; his favorite hobby was making a variety of types of furniture. He had amazing talent and made many treasures for the ones he loved that will be cherished for generations to come. Butch worked as a self-employed contractor and was in the United States Army. In addition to his parents Butch was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pennington Belcher. He is survived by his wife, Patty Belcher of Princeton; step-children, Mark Roberts and wife Stephanie of Charlotte, NC and Leigh Ann Owens and husband Lee of Princeton; four step-grandchildren; three brothers, C.E. “Pete” Wimmer, Jr. and wife Sheridan of Princeton, E. Bruce Wimmer and wife Rita of Princeton, Mark K. Wimmer and wife Trish of Princeton; three sisters, Rose Bernardo and husband Dan of Centerburg, OH, Teresa Smith and husband David of Fredericksburg, VA, and Susan McQuail of Roanoke, VA. Butch will be missed by so many but will never be forgotten because of the immeasurable impact he made on everyone through his generosity and humor. In keeping with Butch’s wishes he has been cremated and there will be no services.
