Ruth Janet Almquist
1929 - 2007
Ruth Janet Almquist, 78, passed away December 18, 2007. Ruth lived her entire childhood in
Montrose, South Dakota until moving to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1948 to become a dental assistant.
She married Lee C. Almquist of St. Paul on May 27, 1950. They moved to California in 1951 and Ruth remained a homemaker, raising their three children in Tracy. Ruth returned to the workforce in the family business until that was sold. She worked for 2 years for J.C. Penney in the office, and later for approximately 10 years as a bookkeeper, and office manager for Peters Ent. Her outside interests were in PTA while the children were in school, Sunday school teacher, and 4-H activities. She spent many hours gardening.
Surviving Ruth are: her husband Lee Almquist of Manteca; daughter Janet Corsaro and her husband Bob of Tracy; sons Jeffrey Almquist and his wife Virginia of Salida, and James Almquist and his wife Claudia of Brazil; grandsons Matthew and Steven Corsaro, Christopher, Justin,
Kevin Almquist; granddaughter; Melissa Zepeda and Stella Tosh; great-grand daughters Revea, Devenn and Talia Martinez.
Her brother Alvin Heetland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota preceded her in death.
Fry Memorial Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements. Visitation will be on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 9:30am until 11am at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. A Chapel service will follow at 11am on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Fry Memorial Chapel. Final resting place will be at Tracy Public Cemetery.
