Son of William Ivan and Hazel Myrtle (Strong) Worden. He attended Boone County School District 18 west of Petersburg, NE until the 8th grade. He entered the U.S. Army on February 3, 1965 and served in Berlin, Germany during the Vietnam War. He returned home in 1967, and received his honorable discharge in 1969. He married Virginia Ann Pfeifer at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding, NE on August 23, 1969. They lived 2½ miles west of St. Edward, NE where he farmed. He was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward, NE, and the Crosier American Legion Post #226 of St. Edward, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel; parents-in-law, Mike and Marie Pfeifer; sister, June Mills; nephews, Donald Mohr and Christopher Pfeifer; two brothers-in-law, Ray Mohr and Bill Mills; and sister-in-law, Jane Royle. Surviving are his wife, Virginia; sister, Pauline Mohr of Fremont, NE; brothers-in-law, Mike (Dar) Pfeifer of Spalding, NE, and Pat Pfeifer of Loomis, NE; and sister-in-law, Rita (Tom) Schaaf of Stuart, NE.
