Marian Jean James, 90, passed away on August 7, 2019. She was born October 10, 1928 in Kendall, Michigan to the late Allan and Beatrice (Harris) Adams.

She and her twin sister were the 4th and 5th of 6 children. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1947. She married Robert Louis James on March 26, 1949. She liked to do ceramics and enjoyed knitting and sewing. One of the items she made was the funeral bunting that is still used to this day on fire apparatuses for Firefighter funeral processions. She liked to go camping and on cruises. She retired from Swift Eckrich in 1991. After retiring, she helped out in the office of First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo. She was also on her high school class reunion committee and helped the Westwood Fire Association's annual ice cream social.

Jean was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband, Robert L. James; her parents; two brothers; a sister; a daughter-in-law; and a grandson.

She is survived by her two sisters; two sons, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, as well as her two cats, Scout and Sherman.

Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, Michigan
