SOPHIA SCHROEDER
(1878 - 1962)

Mrs. Richard Schroeder, 83, formerly of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, Thursday morning where she had been a patient three months. She had been making her home the past 17 years with a daughter, Mrs. Edward Zima, of Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishicot, the Rev. David Worgull officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mrs. Schroeder, nee Sophia Landt, was born March 6, 1878, in the town of Two Creeks, daughter of the late Ernest and Fredericka Ahrndt Landt. When she was a child the family brought her to the Town of Two Rivers where she attended Rangeline School. She was married May 11, 1895, at Two Rivers to Richard Schroeder. After a short period of residence at Two Rivers the couple moved to Rt. 1, Two Rivers. Later the family moved back to the Schroeder homestead at Saxonburg, Town of Mishicot. Her husband died Dec. 15, 1935. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of St. Peter Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Louis Schultz of Rt. 1, Two Rivers, Mrs. Edward Zima of Manitowoc and Mrs. Arnold Chada of Bolt; three sons, Erwin and Arthur of Two Rivers and Norman of Maribel; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Klawitter and Mrs. Lizzie Weber of Two Rivers; 19 grandchildren and 19 great grand-children.

Friends may call at Deja and Martin Funeral chapel, Two Rivers, after 3 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of service.
