Bertha (Cooper) Scott, age 99 years 5 months, of Pennington Gap, VA was born March 17, 1920 at Belgium Hollow near Stonecreek in Lee County. She passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, with several of her family members by her side. She lived all but 13 months of her life in Lee County, VA. She was a homemaker, was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in St. Charles, VA. She loved quilt making and sewing. She was representative of Blair and home showcased products for 32 years. She loved to have visitors and spending time with her family. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Delmar " Slick" Scott; daughters Ester Jean Tabor and Doris Massengill; sons Frank Scott ad Dave Scott. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; four sons James Scott and wife Ann of Indianapolis, IN, Freddy Scott of Arcadia, IN, Paul Scott and wife Linda of Florence, MS and Jerry Scott and wife Susan of Pennington Gap, VA. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, 65 great-great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. until time of services in the sanctuary of Province Funeral Home Chapel in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Tabor officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA.
