Randall “Randy” Eugene Nelson, 69, of Lake Charles, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born on November 14, 1948 in DeLand, Florida.
He was proud of his military service in the United States Marine Corps, “Semper Fi” where he served his country in Vietnam. His little piece of heaven on earth was a mixed drink, little bit of Jimmy Buffett, and the outdoors. He truly valued his family and friendships he had.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Nelson of 32 years; two sons, Danny McClenahan and wife Rachel of St. Paul, MN, Ryan McClenahan and wife Annette of Sulphur; one daughter, Lynn Hebert and husband Larry of Lake Charles; two brothers, Eddie Mixon of Las Vegas, NV, Steve Mixon of Lake Wales, FL; one sister, Anita Mixon of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; one brother, Bobby Mixon; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, who he loved like they were his own.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Nelson Coker.
