Times-News, Cumberland, Maryland, Sunday, August 11, 2019:

Ella Lee (Shuhart) Green, 94, of Barton passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at her residence.

Born October 14, 1924 in Barton, she was the only child of the late Osborne and Lola Shuhart.

Ella graduated from Barton High School and was the President of the class of 1942. After graduation she attended Catherman's Business School in Cumberland. She was employed by the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company in November of 1942 as a receptionist and insurance clerk in the main office. Later she worked as a bookkeeper and assistant cashier at the First National Bank of Barton, and after a merger, the First United Bank and Trust. She was an assistant office manager at the bank and was later promoted to the position of Assistant Branch Manager and Head Teller until her retirement.

Ella Lee was a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Friendly Helpers and was the Treasurer of the church for many years. She has enjoyed support from the caring members and Pastor of the church during her long illness. She and Darius also appreciated all of the help from neighbors and family.

Ella is survived by her devoted husband, Darius L. Green with whom she was preparing to celebrate 73 years of marriage this October. She is also survived by her sons, Paul A. Green and his wife Yvonne of Bethlehem, Pa. and Robert N Green and wife Regina of Algonquin, Illinois. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Brian Green and his wife Charity of Los Angeles, California; Deron Green and his wife Marianne of Montville, New Jersey, Allison Green and Jason Green of Alogonquin, Illinois; and her great grandchildren, Jack Green, Ella Green and Liam Green, all of Montville, New Jersey. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Neither distance, or limited sight sight and hearing prevented her from knowing how her family was doing.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Capel, Barton on Thursday, August, 15th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the Barton United Methodist Church on Friday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sandy Cowan and Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
