Andrew Jackson Boston died at the home of his son, Wallace Boston in Mason. For a number of years, Mr. Boston was feeble and unable to do any physical labor. He was married to Miss Perthenia Tinsley on 9 June 1869 in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1873, the couple came to Texas and settled in Burnet County. In 1874, they moved to Mason County, where they have lived since. Mr. Boston was a member of the Christian Church, having become a member when a young man, and also belonged to the Masonic Lodge. He joined the Masons in 1889. He was a man of good, clean character, was loved, admired by a great number of friends. When he first came to Mason County, he bought a farm for a number of years. He sold his farm and entered business in Mason. He lost his business by fire, and went back to farming, but later returned to the mercantile business. For a number of years, he had the mail contract from Mason to Fredonia, but upon the expiration of four years, he became a freighter. Services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Boston on Tuesday officiated by Rev. J.J. Ray, pastor of the local Christian Church. The local Masonic lodge took care of the graveside services with full Masonic honors.
