IN MEMORY OF Taylor H. Berryhill, born around 1810, in or near the Western Division, Berryhill Township, Charlotte Post Office, Mecklenburg, North Carolina. Taylor died in 1837 when a tree fell on him, grave unknown. (my father's g-g-grandpa). Taylor was son of James McRae Berryhill and Elizabeth Query.

Taylor H. Berryhill married on 15 May 1832 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NC to Margaret Elizabeth Rea, or Margaret Emaline Rea, born 8 Oct 1816 near Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co, NC, and died on 20 Nov 1889. Burial: Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mecklenburg County. FindaGrave 95781212. Margaret was a daughter of William Rea, a Revolutionary War soldier, and Hannah Berryhill born 1794, both of Charlotte, NC.

Taylor's widow Mrs. Margaret E. Berryhill moved back to Mecklenburg County, NC with her young daughter Sarah, and infant son William Hamilton Berryhill (my father's g-grandpa).

He served as Confederate in Civil War, Company E, 2nd Georgia Calvery, enlisted 1st April 1862 in Griffin, Spalding County, GA.
William married on 3rd Nov 1860 in Jackson, Butts County, GA to Mary Banks (b. Aug 1844 - d. 1926). Her Confederate Civil War pension application was filed in Cook County, GA, because it was the closest office to her homestead in Milltown (now Lakeland), Irwin Co, later Berrien Co (now Lanier), GA.
William Hamilton Berryhill's wife Mary Banks Berryhill had 2 popular sisters, who were often mentioned in the Atlanta newspaper's high-society gossip section in the 1870s thru 1910s: Fannie Berryhill married Dr. Enoch Callaway (Calloway Gardens) Findagrave #23531132; and Mattie Banks Swanson. Both sisters became a DAR member around 1898 in Atlanta.
