Funeral services for Rev. David Ray (Sonny) Hardy will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Vowell and Rev. Rusty Walton officiating. Interment in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will begin 5-8 Monday, April 11th at John E. Stephens Chapel . Also, visitation 11-1 Tuesday, April 12th at Pine Grove Baptist Church till time for service. John E. Stephens Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Hardy, 71, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Neshoba General Hospital. He has lived in Neshoba County since 1950. He retired as a counselor and educator after 33 l/2 years. He was employed with Neshoba County School and Newton County School. Rev. Hardy pastored many churches in Neshoba and surrounding counties for over 40 years. He enjoyed reading and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Rev. Hardy was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Curtis Hardy and Clara Killen Hardy; brother-in-law, Tim Croswell.
Survivors are his loving wife of 49 years, Fay Hardy of Philadelphia; daughter, Renee Hardy Mowdy (Chris) of Philadelphia; sons, David Ray Hardy II of Philadelphia and Andrew Hardy (Lauren) of Tupelo; sister, Mary Croswell of Philadelphia; (3) granddaughters, Abi Mowdy Adkins (Lane), Mary Kate Hardy and Hannah Mowdy; (2) nieces and (1) nephew.
Pallbearers: Allen Tucker, Coby Thompson, Patrick Croswell, Tony Stone, Brad Winstead, Alex Dulay, Darron Smith and Matt Eubanks.
