Julia Gertrude Powell, 68, member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, died August 11, 2019, in Memphis. Mrs. Powell was an educator for Fleet and Family Services at NAS Mid-South. The wife of John Kelly Powell, she also leaves her daughter Jessica (Shelby) Walker of Brighton; her son LCDR Joe Powell of Hawaii; her brothers James R. Jenkins, Jr. of Terre Haute, IN and Dean Jenkins of Ft. Wayne, IN; and three grandsons, Justin, Jacob, and Kolton Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Pat Jenkins; and her sister Mary Donna Jenkins.
Visitation for Mrs. Powell will be 5-8 PM Thursday, August 15, with funeral services 10AM Friday, August 16, all at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home, Covington TN.
