John W. Agar, Bill, passed away on December 27, 2018 in Hermiston, OR after a short illness. He was born in Loon Lake to Stella and Clayton Agar, the sixth of six children. He attended the Loon Lake Elementary School and later attended school in Deer Park. He graduated from Deer Park High School. Bill served in the U.s. Navy from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He served on a munitions ship and was station in San Francisco, Sasebo and Yokama in Japan. He was married to Marian Arleen Cline of Fan Lake in 1952 after boot camp in San Francisco. After the Navy they resided in the Williams Valley, Deer Park area. Bill was an avid horseman. Raising, training a riding Quarter Horses was his life long interest. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and attended the Pendleton Round Up every year. He moved to Echo, Oregon in 1970 where he worked on the Vey Ranch. He married Ilah Harvey in 1998 and worked at Simplot in Hermiston, Oregon until he retired.

He is survived by his wife Ilah, his daughter Sharon Agar-Lewis of Pasco, WA, and his grandson Bill Lewis also of Pasco. He was preceded in death by his sister Esther Agar, his brother Dick (Richard) Agar, Roy Agar and Sisters Ethelyn Paxton and Vera Hankel, both of Spokane. Bill is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews in Spokane, Ontario,m Oregon and Thermopolis, Wyoming where his nephews run Durbin Creek Ranch.

He was laid to rest next to his brother Roy Agar at Williams Valley Cemetery on January 2, 2019 in a private family burial.
