                       Sudden Death.
Mr. Geerge [sic] I. Dillman, of Podonia [sic], died Wednesday, last week. He was shingling on a roof, and the men working with him noticed that he was behind with his end of the work. One of them spoke to him, and, as he did not answer, went to him. He was unable to move, and was taken down from the building and carried home. A physician who happened to be present accompained [sic] him, and found him bleeding inwardly. He vomited blood profusely, and expired in a few minutes, without speaking more than half a dozen words. There is reason to believe that he had been bleeding intenally [sic] for some time, but had kept the fact from his family that they might not be alarmed. The deceased was apparently one of the heartiest men in that vicinity. He was a carpenter, 44 years of age, an honoraby [sic] discharged soldier, of Company D, 144th Indiana infantry, and came to Kansas about eight years ago. He leaves a widow and seven children, one of them, a daughter, married. The eldest son, 16 years of age, is a cripple. His life was insured in the St. Joseph Temperance Union for $1000, but it is not known how much that association pays on a thousand dollar policy. Mr. Dillman was the constable of Padonia, and an esteemed citizen. He was poor, depending upon his mechanical labors for a living, and his family are deserving of sympathy and kindness from their neighbors.
