Sears, Stephen J. Age 47, of Grayslake, passed away at his home on Friday, September 8, 2017 following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 14, 1970 in Chicago to Gerald F. and Elizabeth (Jackson) Sears. Stephen was passionate about his job at Midwestern Univeristy and proud that he helped students become health care professionals. He loved the Sox, the Oakland Raiders, and was a Blackhawks fan. He was a huge Beatles and Marx Brothers fan, but, most of all, he loved and adored his family. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Victoria (nee Heskin), whom he married on November 8, 1991 in Chicago; his parents; children, Christina (John) Franco of Connecticut and June of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Rei and Aiden; his siblings, Gerald (Michelle) of Chicago, Kevin (Nicole) of Illinois, Delores (Jim) of Wisconsin; very special and loving friend, Tonya Jackson; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by many beloved family members. Friends of the family may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Grayslake, IL. The funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the funeral chapel.
