Ruby Jo Black of Midlothian, Texas died on August 12, 2019 in Dallas of pulmonary embolism. She was born on January 13, 1937 to Rice Black and Nettie (Kirkland) Black in Greenville, Texas.
Ruby moved with her parents from Greenville to Arcadia Park in Dallas during World War II. Ruby married Billy Mack Bailey on February 26, 1952 and they had two daughters together, JoLynn and Vicki. She was a nurse’s aide and a physical therapy aide for many years. She loved gardening, old classic movies, antiques, and looking for great deals at flea markets. She will be missed by many family, friends, and neighbors. She is also sorely missed by her little dog Pita.
Ruby is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Patton, who passed away just this past February, and Darren Tracy Laird who died at birth in 1965. She is survived by daughter, JoLynn Alvarez and her husband, Joe; son-in-law, Cecil Patton; granddaughters, Jennifer Milgrom (Louie), Jamie Chavez (Hendrick), Sarah Clawson (James), Melody Webb (Ken), and Melissa Ware (Brandon); grandson, Brett Patton; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kira, Cason, Lyric, and Bennett.
A graveside service is scheduled: August 16, 2019 at Restland Cemetery.
