He was known as "Cappy" Jones. His obituary read: "Ace Leon "Cappy" Jones, 49, of Clarks Hill, Indiana died at 6:22 P.M. Sunday (February 7, 1993) at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born September 25, 1943, in Williamsport, son of Roy P. and Opal Dunavan Jones.

He graduated from Covington High School in 1961. He was resident of Lafayette, Indiana, 22 years, where he was employed by Wolohann and Wicks Lumber Companies. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987, before moving to Clarks Hill in November 1992. He was a member of the Clarks Hill Christian Church, Masonic Lodge and a past mast, OES and was a past worthy patron, pop of the Rainbow Girls, and Stonewall's Dance Club.

He married Betty Kinslow March 7, 1965, in Clarks Hill. Survived by his wife; two daughters, Glynis (Rick) Watkins of Hiland, California, and Linnette Jones of Marietta, Georgia; a son, Jeffrey (Gena) Jones of Dayton, Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Opal and Howard Dice of Bismark; a brother, Jack L. (Patricia) Jones of Covington Route 3; a stepsister, Charlotte Quick of Danville; three stepbrothers, Ronald (Mary E.) Dice of Littleton, Colorado, Donald (Shirley) Dice and Daniel (Linda) Dice, both of Bismark; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father and a brother, Elza.

Services: 11 A.M. EST Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington; Officiating: John Buckley; Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington; Visitation: 4-8 P.M. EST Tuesday at the funeral home."
