John Mayer,89, of Silex, MO , formerly of Troy, passed away on August 9, 2019 at Silex Community Care. He was born on February 2, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI. He attended the local schools. John was introduced to his future wife, Alma Grissom by a neighbor. He was on leave from the U.S. Navy and two years later, they were united in holy matrimony. While still in the service, John and Alma lived in Washington and Florida. They then moved to Overland for a short time before relocating to Troy, MO. Through the years, they Mayers' traveled all over the country, Colorado, California and many other states. John was a member of Maranantha Baptist Church in Troy and his church family was important to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Alma Mayer.
