Obituary for Vivian Jean Darr Smith
Vivian Jean Darr Smith, 88, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Owensboro Center. Vivian, a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed antiques, flea markets, traveling and an avid UK basketball fan. Vivian was a graduate of Poole High School in 1948, where she proudly played bass drum for the Cheer Squad.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 15, 2018, at Shady Grove General Baptist Church Cemetery in Poole, Kentucky.

She was born on April 18, 1930 in Poole, Webster County, Kentucky to the late Tom Darr and Nola Jewell Darr. Her sisters, Emma Darr Meeks, Georgia Darr Wilkerson, one brother, Thornton Darr; and half-brother, Shirley Darr, preceded her in death.

Her husband of 45 years, Hugh A. Smith, preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by her son, Tim Smith of Owensboro, Kentucky; and a brother, Tom J. Darr of Lexington, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a long-time employee of Kentucky Wesleyan College, working in the Business Department for 30 years.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kentucky Wesleyan College; 3000 Frederica Street; Owensboro, Kentucky 42301.
