Nicholas Joseph Harris, 81 yrs, of Toledo, OH, died Wednesday August 7, 2019, in Regency Hospital, Sylvania, OH. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI, Sunday August 11, 2019, from 6-8PM. Services will be Monday August 12, 2019, at 11 AM at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI. Burial will be in Lulu Cemetery, Ida, MI.

Born February 10, 1938. He was the youngest of 8 children born to Benjamin "Ben" Franklin and Helen Therese (Percic) Harris. Nick Joined the US Marines Corp and served for 3 yrs as a rifleman. He traveled the world with the Marines before receiving his honorable discharge and good conduct medal on March 18, 1959 having attained the rank of Lance Corporal. He married Roberta English- Appleman on November 16, 1970. Roberta died April 11, 2018.

Nick was a millwright Jeep from the early 70's until his retirement in the 90's. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers and Industrial Union. Nick was an avid sport fisherman and a lifelong lover of horror and western films and fantasy novels. His favorite actors were: john Wayne, Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff and his favorite singer was the Big Bopper. He loved to play pinochle with his co-workers at Jeep and after Roberta and he retired to Alexis Gardens he became a regular staple at the poker table were he made a great many friends that he much attached to.

Survivors include: his daughter, Jennifer (Corey) Kujawa; granddaughter, Serena Grace Kujawa; step-daughters, Donna (Dennis) Puterbaugh, Crystal Miniard; step-son; James (Jane) Appleman; step-grandchildren, Amber Sherrick, Jacob Miniard, William Miniard, Jessy Miniard, Caleb Appleman; step great-grandchildren, Kurt, Nathaniel and Dahlia; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and cousins. he was preceded in death by: his wife, Roberta, parents and 8 brothers and sisters.
