She was born on January 21, 1922 in Charlotte to Alson and Una Mae (Churchill) Weaver.
She enjoyed the simple things in life and loved people, she always wanted to know all the "goings on" and was a real hoot! She loved cook and canning, she enjoyed playing bingo, dominos, farkle, and slot machines, she also enjoyed watching baseball and loved to hear about her great-grandchildren that also played.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Wood of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Cindy Bishop (Kerwin), April Wood (Doug Osier), and Cameron Wood (Amy); eleven great-grandchildren, Casey Coles, Clayton Mack, Bryce Bishop (Haley), Heath Bishop, Whitney Turner (Jeremiah), Chantrey Wood, Brooklyn Wood, Brady Wood, Kenzey Wood, Cameron Morris, and Madison Morris; two great-great-grandchildren, Easton Mack and Rebecca Jane Turner; sister, Ruth Wood of Batesville; daughter-in-law, Karon Wood McGill; special friend, Kathy Chapman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walker Wood; son, Hersheal Wood; grandson, Brandon Wood; six brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers are Casey Coles, Clayton Mack, Bryce Bishop, Heath Bishop, Chantrey Wood, Brady Wood, and Jeremiah Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Wood, Kerwin Bishop, Doug Osier, Dr. J.D. Allen, Dr. Dylan Carpenter, Dr. Craig Pickering, the staff and residents of Woodlawn Nursing Home, all of her nephews, and the members of Sharp United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Sharp United Methodist Church with Brother Jeff Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Charlotte Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
