Mr. Kenneth Paul Mercer, age 76 of Athens, AL passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Mercer was born on January 14, 1943 in Clinton, Massachusetts to William Clyde Mercer and Alice C. Krysiak Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Glenn Mercer.

Mr. Mercer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah S. Steward Mercer; children, Tonya Ann Mercer and John W.P. Mercer (wife, Kathy); grandchildren, Ashley S. Hie (fiancé, Colton Harben), Lacey A. Hie, Kristin Claridy (husband, Levi Claridy) and Randall Drinkard; great-granddaughter, Salem Faye Wasdyke; nephew and niece, Shaun Mercer and Carrie Mercer Waloven; special friends, Diane Wilson, William Brewer, William and Doris Hossback.

Mr. Mercer greatly enjoyed working and providing for his family. He was truly selfless and loved his family very much. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date for Mr. Mercer.
