ALMA LLOYD BRANDON YANCEY, born March 25, 1903 in Collierville, TN, passed away June 28, 2007 at the age of 104 in Senatobia, MS. She was the daughter of Freddie Lloyd and Betty Renefro. She was married to Vuron Earl Brandon, who was the father of her 10 children, and Leonard Yancey, who preceded her in death. Four of her children preceded her in death, Annie Brandon, Maxine Holliman, Raiford Brandon, and Harvey E. Brandon, and eight grandchildren, four in-laws, Wilbur Meredith, Ron Strange, Ruth Carpenter Brandon and Charles Taylor, whom she loved as her own. She leaves behind six children, and their spouses, Ethelene Meredith Strange of Thyatira, MS, Morris L. and Leola Brandon of Wakefield, MS, Carl and Mildred Brandon of Holly Springs, MS, Avis and John Marr of Looxahoma, MS, Betty and Raymond Young of Wakefield, MS, Carolyn and Eddie Riley of Memphis, son-in-law, Harold Holliman from Sardis, 38 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. A family of six generations, many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, July 1 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at Brantley Funeral Home, with interment to follow in New Garden Cemetery.
