Sharon L. Murray, 64, of Dry Run Road, Beech Creek has moved to her Eternal Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 10, 2019.

On Oct. 22, 1983, Sharon was united in marriage to Patrick L. Murray, her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, and on March 31, 1992, they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Stephanie.

Sharon was born on Feb. 19, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to Samuel L. and Madalyn Beck Sims.

Sharon graduated from the former Sugar Valley High School in 1973. She worked at Lock Haven Hospital before being employed by CAPS which eventually became Geisinger Medical Group, Lock Haven. She worked for 38 years, building many wonderful friendships with her co-workers and the patients whose lives she touched through service before her retirement in Jan. 2017.

She was a member of Blanchard Church of Christ.

Sharon's passion in life was helping others in anyway she could. She volunteered at many events and with various organizations.

Sharon enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. She found great pleasure sitting on her porch swing at the start of the day while reading her Bible, drinking coffee and taking in the beauty of her flowers and the surrounding scenery.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Patrick L. Murray; her daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Yesenko. of Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Madalyn Sims, of Jersey Shore; two brothers, Samuel L. (Carol) Sims, Jr., of Nescopeck, and Scott (Bobbie) Sims, of Avis; her sister, Lisa (David) Haywood, of Loganton; her brother-in-law, Michael (Carrol) Murray, of York; her sister-in-law, Charlene (Frank) Peter, of McElhattan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel L. Sims, Sr.; a brother, Steven L. Sims; and a nephew, Joshua D. Haywood.

My sister, Sharon, will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She had such a spirit of kindness and generosity for everyone she knew and met. It is my prayer that her spirit of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. I rejoice in the fact that she is now at peace in her eternal home with the Lord.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 N. Beach St., Blanchard with Dr. Rev. Russell Moldovan officiating. Her final resting place will be at Woolrich Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received at Blanchard Church of Christ on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations on Sharon's behalf be made to the Rice Women's Cancer Research Fund of Geisinger Health System through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa. 17745.
