Michael "Mike" Ray Laird
FEBRUARY 11, 1954 ~ JULY 14, 2019 (AGE 65)

Michael Ray Laird, age 65, of Manvel went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 14, 2019 after a long fought battle with cancer. He was born on February 11, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to parents, Ben and Helen (Larson) Laird. Mike had been a resident of the Greater Houston area his entire life. He joined the United States Army in 1971 and proudly served his country for the next fourteen years. Mike was proud of his country and to be an American.

Some of Mike’s favorite pastimes were leather crafting, wood working, writing, cooking, fishing, music, dominoes, slot car racing, and all things military. He worked for Lowe’s and Home Depot, and was skilled in home design. He and his brother, Tim, and a few friends built their mother a house in Mike and Andrea’s backyard. He built his best friends’, Lynn and James, house as well. Mike also loved to build boats.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Laird; parents, Ben and Helen Laird; brother, Timothy J. Laird; and niece, Elora Laird.

Left to cherish his memory is his step-daughter, Heather O’Maonaigh-Wolski and husband Mike of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Gus and Ginny Wolski; sister-in-law, Tammie Laird; nieces: Brielle Laird, Mindy Robinson and husband Phillip; great nephews, Michael Jones and Phillip Lee Robinson III; as well as a whole passel of beloved cousins.
