She was born on February 18, 1949 in Madison, WI to Richard and Sue (Sheldrup) Cox. Jeanne graduated from West High School of Madison, WI, she received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education at UW Madison and a Masters degree in Counseling at UW Stout. She was married to Patrick Healy on December 17, 1971 in Madison, WI. Jeanne worked in Student Services at the UW Barron County where students waited in line outside her office, seeking the advice of a woman whose smile lit up a room and whose laughter made problems disappear.
Jeanne was a world traveler who liked nothing better than to be home, tending to her beautiful flowers, and going to Twins games with her husband. Jeanne’s dogs were her passion. With a beautiful yellow lab on each side, she kept both content with pats and rubs. When they died, a chocolate lab named Kiss came into her life — at her side until the end, waiting for one last rub. Jeanne was a founding member of the PAWS of Barron County
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Healy of Rice Lake; her children, Mike Healy (Jess Flaherty) of Minneapolis, MN and Kate Healy of Minneapolis, MN; a step granddaughter, Rylee Flaherty; a brother, Steve (Carol) Cox of Louisville, Kentucky; mother-in-law, Ann Healy of New Richmond, WI; 2 sisters-in-law, Jody (Dennis) Mudlitz of Hudson, WI and Mary (Jon) Hailey of New Richmond, WI; 2 special caregivers, Marybell Lenz and Midge Rust; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Sue Cox, father-in-law, Dr. Joseph Healy and a brother-in-law, John Healy.
