Billie Lavern Howard was born in Post, TX on September 5, 1933 and passed away on August 9, 2019 in Lubbock, TX.

Billie was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Freddie, her parents C.W. Sr. and Lorene Hunt, brother C.W. (Dub) Hunt, Jr., sister Navelle Brooks, daughter-in-law Angel Howard, and granddaughter Jennifer Lee Howard. She is survived by one sister, Sandra McGeath of Lubbuock, daughter Freda McSwane and husband Jay of Ruidoso, NM, two sons Wren Howard and wife Natalie of Meadow, TX and Major Howard of Brownfield, grandchildren Kristi Howard, Summer Lovelace and husband Sterling, Gabe Murry and wife Jeanie, Haylee Potter and husband Chance, Jayson McSwane and wife Natalie, Wayne McSwane and wife Melanie, Dustin Wilkes and wife Summer, Ashlie Zant and
husband Shane, Stormy Howard, AJ Howard and wife Shelbye, and great-grandchildren Brett Howard, Skylar and Casey Watson, Sage and Slade Lovelace, Cheyanne Howard, Dylan and Sephra Murry, Rayden, Casen, and Ashtyn Potter, Lacey McSwane, Katlynn and Conner McSwane, Dawson, Jax, Axel and Deacon Wilkes, Averie, Kallie, and Charlie Zant, and Kyren and Kamber Howard, and two great-great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are several brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Billie loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her door was always open and she was always ready to host anyone who walked in the door. She was a fabulous cook, and many were known to call her with a request for their favorite and a heads up of when they would be there, and she was happy to oblige. She was a fierce competitor in 42 and Skip-Bo and was an avid reader. Billie was a longtime supporter of Meadow One Act Plays and enjoyed watching her children perform. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known to be a little bit mischievous!

Visitation will be Friday August 16, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the Brownfield Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 10 AM on Saturday August 17, 2019 at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
