Cynthia Lu Durr Garner, “Cindy”, passed away on August 9, 2019. She was born on February 18, 1953 in Austin where she resided most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. “Bill” and Glendene Durr; her niece, Leslie Anne Wheelus; and her beloved dog, Lulu.

To cherish her memory, Cindy leaves behind her loving and wonderful husband and companion, Lester "Jr." Garner, Jr.; sons, David Balch, Jr. and Michael Durr and wife Trish; granddaughters: Kayla and Phoebe Durr, and Cristen and Alex Winbourne; grandsons, Brayden Garner and Cannon Hutfless; stepdaughter, Tiffany Garner; sister, Gail Wheelus; niece, Shelley Marie; nephew, Bradley Wheelus; aunts, Paula Whitt and Barbara Pittman; in-laws, Lester Garner, Sr. and Carolyn; as well as multiple brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, their children and their grandchildren.

Cindy had various jobs in her life, but the most important one was being with family. She loved spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. She was a fun Mimi. Her sense of humor made all of them laugh. She loved arts and crafts. Cindy would spend hours sitting on the floor creating things out of whatever she had on hand: shells, rocks, twigs, etc. She also loved collecting heart-shaped rocks. Cindy and Jr. spent many hours walking in the woods, by rivers and in river beds, adding to her collection.

Cindy loved to watch tv and some of her favorite shows were NCIS Los Angeles, Family Feud, The Goldbergs, Ellen and Everybody Loves Raymond, but her favorite was I Love Lucy. She has a plate collection hanging in her kitchen with various scenes from the show.

Cindy was a strong woman and didn’t give up easily. She lived twelve years longer than the doctors thought she would. She fought long and hard but in the end was too tired to fight any more. She will be sorely missed.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with light refreshments on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Ramsey Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78633, with her father-in-law, Minister Lester Garner, Sr. officiating.

Cindy will be laid to rest at Andice Cemetery in Andice, Texas.
