David Michael Vest, 61, of Tama, died on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Memorial Service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

David was born on October 17, 1957, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Don Sr. and Patsy (Cowhick) Vest.

On July 15, 2004, he married Dawn Yardley in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. David previously owned and operated Twin City Auto Body in Tama and later worked at Meskwaki Bingo and Casino Hotel as a maintenance supervisor.

David loved spending time on the Mississippi River. His hobbies included collecting clocks, restoring cars, and going to flea markets and swap meets, especially looking for antiques. He also liked to go on rides and check out older homes.

Surviving are his wife Dawn of Tama; daughters, Kelli Vest and Kiley Vest, both of Cedar Rapids; step-daughter, Jessica (Adrian) Bishop of Nixa, Missouri, and Jennifer Yardley of Tama; ten grandchildren; four brothers, Thom (Janet) Vest of Tama, Tim Vest of Tama, Kevin Vest of North Liberty, and Michael Vest of Grinnell; and two sisters, Chris (Mike Kriegel) Vest of Tama and Jolene (Ed) Haughey of Tama.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Patsy Vest, and two brothers, Don Vest Jr. and James R. "Jimmie" Vest Sr.
