Vicki Marlene Lawrence, age 70 of Gardner, KS, passed away August 9, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. She was born in Kansas City, MO, August 21, 1948 daughter of Roy E. Albright and Gladys Lee (Jones) Albright. Vicki grew up in Manhattan, KS graduating from Manhattan High School with the class of 1966. After high school she worked as a cosmetologist and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

During her career she worked her way through all the ranks from C.N.A to L.P.N. to R.N. Vicki worked for several different nursing institutions over the years. She truly loved what she did ending her career in Hospice Nursing as a service to her mother, retiring in 2010. She cared for her patients deeply and continued to use her hair styling skills to bring a smile to her patients.

She was a member of the Hospice Nurses Association and was a column writer for a time for the Missouri Chigger when she lived in Roscoe, MO. She was a very generous person who loved to share her love for painting with others. She was a very artistic person which allowed her to view life differently than most people, always enjoying the unique qualities of others and of life in general. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and spoiled each of them in their own way.

On September 1, 1966 Vicki married her first love, Bill Chadwick. Bill was killed in action in Vietnam on June 17, 1969. She married Maurice Delmotte in December of 1969, they later divorced. On July 5, 1983, she married Ronnie Lawrence; he preceded her in death in July of 1997.
