She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to decorate, but her passion was to care for her three children.
Amy was born, January 10, 1976, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of William and Doloris (Bowerman) Cox. She married Joshua Dawson on May 14, 1994, in Dixon, IL.
Amy enjoyed traveling, hiking and camping outdoors with family. She loved to read, make wise cracks (jokes) and all animals, especially cats.
She is survived by her husband Joshua M. Dawson; two sons, Zachary M. Dawson and Joshua M. Dawson, Jr.; one daughter, Megan R. Dawson; two sisters, Tracy Kanzler and Cindy Frey; one brother, William J. Cox; two brother-in-laws, Jarrod (Denise) Dawson and Paul (Brock) Heppel; two sister-in-laws, Angela Dawson and Tina (DJ) Williamson; niece, CJ Frey; nephew, Justin Kanzler and many extended nieces and nephew. She’s also survived and loved dearly by her aunt and uncles, Robert (Lova), Floyd, Beverly, Barbara, Donald (Lil), Dale (Roxanne), Bernadine (Clark), Darryl, David and Douglas.
Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John (Elise) Cox and maternal grandparents, Pearl (Edward) Bowerman.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home followed by Words of Remembrance starting at 7:00 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded.
