Ruby Altman McConnell, 98, widow of W.F. McConnell, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at her home.

Born on July 10, 1921, in Georgetown County, she was a daughter of the late O.W. Altman and the late Mary Lawrimore Altman. Mis’ Ruby was an active member of the Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church for 50 years having served in Women’s Ministry, Missions Committee and was an avid supporter and fundraiser for Emmanuel College. She was a student of the Bible having read it through entirely 72 times. Mis’ Ruby taught Sunday school for many years and her influence touched many lives. She was also a charter member of Georgetown Community Church (now Family Worship Center) and was currently the senior member of First Baptist Church, Georgetown.

Survivors include her children, Bobby McConnell and his wife Sylvia of Comer GA and Dora Nooft and her husband Pat of Georgetown; grandchildren Kirk McConnell and his wife Stephanie of Comer, GA, Joseph Nooft of Georgetown and Victoria Chance and her husband Lee of Georgetown; one great-grandson, Will McConnell of Comer, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Delwood, Dutchman. Roland, O.W. and Leon Altman; and one sister, Margaret A. Davis.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Georgetown. Burial will follow in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery in Johnsonville, SC..
