Elvis "Louis" Rushing was born on February 15, 1936, the son of Elvis Lee Rushing (1914–2007) and Kathleen (Bagby) Rushing (1915–1970).
He was married 1st to Helen Waters (1939–1968), and he was married 2nd about 1969 to Janet Copeland.
Louis was employed by Trane, and later employed by CMCSS as a bus aide on their special needs’ buses. He was also a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a longtime Sunday School teacher. Louis enjoyed fishing, tinkering and reading his Bible, and he was a member of Clarksville 50+ Senior Citizen Center.
Living in Clarksville, he was 83 years old when he passed away at home on August 9, 2019.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Darryl Dean Rushing (1962-2001), while survivors included his 2nd wife, two sons, three daughters and a son-in-law, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a sister.
Celebration of Life Services were held at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
