John R. “Jack” Delmore, age 69, of Kenosha, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2000, at St. Mark Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

He was born April 23, 1930, in Two Rivers, son of the late Dr. A. V. and Katherine (Kraus) Delmore. He attended St. Luke’s Elementary School and was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. He also attended Marquette University and graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., in 1956, with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration Degree. While at St. Norbert’s he served as the Junior Class President, the Veterans’ Club President, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Gamma Fraternity. On September 13, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc, he married Jeane (sic) G. Kadow. Mr. Delmore served in the United States Army as an Artillery Sergeant from January of 1953 until January of 1955 serving at Forts Sheridan Carson and Knox. In 1965, he came to Kenosha from Manitowoc. He was employed at the Mirro Company in Manitowoc as an industrial engineer for seven years and the MacWhyte Company in Kenosha for 27 years retiring as the Director of Employee Relations in 1992. A member of St. Mark Catholic Church he served on the board of the Jaycees in both Two Rivers and Oshkosh. A Past Exalted Ruler of Two Rivers Elk’s Lodge #1380 from 1964 until 1965, he also served as a trustee of the Kenosha Elk’s Lodge #750 and currently was a member of the Waukegan Elk’s Lodge #702. He served as a past president of the Two Rivers Recreation Board, the Southeastern Wisconsin Labor-Management Council, the Kenosha Manufacturer’s Association, and the KMEA Safety Council. He also served on the Kenosha Civic Service Commission, the board of the Kenosha United way, the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, the National Safety Council, the board of directors of the Kenosha Voluntary Action Council, the Wise Owl Club (eye safety) and the board of the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Industrial Relations Committee.

Survivors include his wife, Jeane G. Delmore, Kenosha; two daughters, Kelly Canfield, Brighton, Wis., and Leah Mabrey, Two Rivers; a son, Jay Delmore, Kenosha; three grandchildren and a sister, Elizabeth Baxter, Sarasota, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Anderson.

Visitation for Mr. Delmore will be held on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus-Thulin Funeral Home, 3720-39th Ave., Kenosha. A parish prayer vigil will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday (TONIGHT). Visitation will also be 10:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Hospice Alliance or St. Mark Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.

The Piasecki-Althaus-Thulin Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements.
