British Public Records House Col. (1929 by A. S. Salley, vol. 22, p60) records a 22 April 1685 okay by the Lord's Proprietors of his request for 3000 acres of land (SW of Cape Fear) in the Albemarle area (prior to clear separation of NC & SC). Requested payment for 316 lb pork supplied Savannah Garrison in 1727 (Journal of the Commons House of Assembly...volume likely in S. C. State Archives). Probate 4/24/1742 notes 296 cattle, etc., and administratrix was Bridget Shaw (Charleston, S. C. Probate Records). I am assuming that Bridget was his wife & am supposing his death date as being in 1741 because I highly doubt that the probate process would be finished in 4 months. Anyhow, at least this gets this man on Find a Grave.
