Mr. Wesley Dean Wright, 70, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Ervin Taylor. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home.

Born May 21, 1943, in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of the late Rosalyn Jones Wright and George Wilson Wright, Sr. Mr. Wright was retired from Powell Manufacturing as a welder. He was a very good man, and he loved his grandchildren.

Along with his parents listed above, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Heather Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Smith Wright of the home; a son, Ricky Wright and wife, Paula of McColl; daughters, Sheila Wright of Maxton, NC, and Donna Wright of Lumberton, NC; brothers, Bobby Mangum and wife, Betty of McColl, and George Wright and wife, Sandy of McColl; a sister, Linda Deaver and husband, Robert of McColl; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; step-children, Jerry Godwin and wife, Suzanne of Bennettsville, Joanne “Sissy” Pruitt and husband, Allen “Chino” of Bennettsville, Joey Godwin and wife Wanda Goins of Bennettsville; April Godwin and husband, Joey McDonald of Bennettsville; six step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
