Burial will be in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home.
He died on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1917, in Willis. He married Bertha Lowrance in 1936 in Roaring Springs. He was a conductor with Santa Fe Railroad before retiring in 1981. He worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart for the last three years. He was a member of First Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ricky of Albuquerque; a sister, Estelle Mize of Amarillo; two brothers, Francis of Floydada and Robert Duren of Duncan, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
