A resident of Lincoln for the past two and a half years, Mrs. Kern came here from Scribner, Neb., where her husband, Rev. Val Kern, was pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church for 18 years. Rev. Mr. Kern has served 46 years in the Lutheran ministry in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Nebraska.
Surviving, besides her husband, and five daughters, Mrs. Dora Bornemann, Hanover, N.D.; Mrs. Edith Bristor, Wyandotte, Mich.; Mrs. Ella Bersche, Blackwell, Okl.; Mrs. Evelyn Shaw, Detroit, Mich.,and Mrs. Henrietta Hartman, Lincoln; one son, Cpl. Herbert Kern, Mercer, N.D.; four brothers, three sisters, and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wadlows and at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. Frederick Worthman officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
