MRS. NANCY HAMMOND
Mrs. Nancy Hammond, well known pioneer resident of the vicinity, died at her home just south of Thompsonville Saturday morning, December 13, aged 87 years.  Death followed a long period of declining health and a serious condition for the past several years.  The call home ended her suffering, which was severe at times.
Nancy Flasher was born in Jamestown, Mich. August 28, 1860 and passed away, Saturday Dec. 13, 1947, aged 87, years 3 months, 15 days.  She was one of 5 children of Martin and Jane Flasher.
She was united in marriage to Sylvaneous Hammond in 1877.  To this union were born seven children, two of whom preceded her in death.  The five remaining are John and Sylvaneous Hammond and Ella Cowgill of Thompsonville, Wesley Hammond of Evart and Bertha Broward of Alma.
She has lived in this community 47 years.  She was an earnest Christian woman and an active member of the Helping Han Society.  She leaved to morn her loss five children, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grand children beside a hots of friends.  Her home was always open to her friends and guests and she always endeared herself to them with her kindly spirit.  She leaves for her family and the community a record of earnest devotion to her children and holds the high respect of all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at the Thompsonville Congregational church Wednesday afternoon, Rev Karl Wildt officiating and burial was at Thompsonviller cemetery

Rest
Rest mother rest
The heart that once
Beat in Thy breast!
Has been as true as true can be
And thou has waited patiently
For God to send His call to Thee
At last He's called you for His own
And thou has gone to a new home
Where here's no sin of tortured
beast
Rest mother rest
by Sylvaneous Hammond
