Richardson Roundtree 1736–1819
Matilda Anderson
Elizabeth is the daughter of Richardson Rountree and his first wife, Matilda Anderson.
She married "her cousin," William Goldsmith, in the home of her father, Richardson Rountree, in Fairforest, Union District, in 1783. (William's father was Rev. Richard Goldsmith, a Presbyterian minister who had lived at Richmond, VA during the Revolutionary War.)
In the 1790's Elizabeth and William moved to Greenville District where they lived out their lives.
At the time of the 1800 Greenville County census they apparently had four sons and three daughters. By 1810, there appear to be nine children, four sons and five daughters. The family evidently lived in vicinity of Durbins Creek, on the Enoree River.
