Ray Edwin Mills, 83, of Roanoke, Va., passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born on October 3, 1932, to Herbert and Daisy Mills of Roanoke.He was a veteran of the Korean War having proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Army. Following the discharge from service, he returned to Roanoke and began his career as a truck driver for Frigid Freeze. The company later became PYA Monarch and he retired in 1997 after 42 years of service.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marshall Mills and Lewis Mills; and sister, Doris Scruggs.Ray was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife; two daughters; two grandchildren; brother; sister; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held at noon on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Oakey''s South Chapel with Pastor Robert Alderman officiating.
