Jo Ella Cole Jordan, 76, a former 60 years resident of Burlington, passed away in Carmel, Indiana on Sunday, August 4, 2019 following one year of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Joseph Walter Cole and Margaret Virginia Holmes Cole, both deceased.

Jo Ella was a graduate of Williams High School where she was head cheerleader. She was formerly employed at the Office of the Clerk of Court in Alamance County and retired to North Myrtle Beach, SC. Ms. Jordan was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Marc Gilliam of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Brian Henry Jordan and wife Shelley Moon Jordan of Carmel, IN; grandson, Nolan Henry Jordan; four siblings, Kay Cole of Charlotte, Tommy Cole and wife Kathy of Burlington, Wayne Cole and Billy Cole, both of North Myrtle Beach, SC; five nephews; and one niece.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
