Larry Keith Barker, 70, of Anderson, passed away Aug. 7, 2019, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born April 4, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He served his country in the Army during Vietnam and received a Purple Heart Medal for his service.
He retired in 2005 from General Motors, Indianapolis, after 35 years of service.
He loved his old Western shows, going to old car shows and building model cars.
Larry is survived by his loving spouse whom he married Oct. 22, 1971, Elizabeth (Doss) Barker; children, Amber (Gordon) Pease, Guy (Emma) Barker, Lisa (Wayne) Tolle, Homer Smith, Darrell "D.J." (Stephanie) Smith; siblings, Judy Ashby, Mary Doscher, Pamela Allen; grandchildren, Jessica Clements, Kolton Smith, MacKenzie Smith, John Payton, Josh Payton, Sam Peters, Dartanyon Smith, Ahnaka Barker, Ian Barker, Ivan Barker, Taylor Smith, Donald Bowles; great-grandchildren, Haliegh Clements, Jason Clements, Zane Payton, Zayden Payton, Zagan Payton, Carter Spear; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Barker; father, Guy Barker; grandchildren, Isaak Barker, Rhett Smith and Lisa Smith.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, Ind.
Services will be Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Freeman officiating followed by military rites.
Cremation will take place with burial in The Gardens at Willowcrest Park at a later date.
